When a woman gets married and later on she needs to renew her passport, does her maiden (birth certificate) name go on it it will it be her married name?

Also, in the UK, when a married woman dies, is it her maiden name, passport name or married name that goes on the death certificate?

If a woman wants to change her name when she gets married she can, but at the same time if she wants to retain her maiden name she can do this also, it really depends on what she wants to do. When she dies it is usual for her to be certified dead under the name she has been known by.

if she sends off her marriage certificate to get a passport, she can have it in her maiden name.

when she dies, whatever she is known to or what is on her passport will go on the death certificate.
