How high can the unit get if there's a leak from the ducts?

bob, thanks for the response. What I meant to ask is at what degrees should the air flow in to keep the indoor temperature at 70? There will be loss during heat distribution, so the air flow should be higher than the desired temperature.

I put a thermometer near the HVAC unit outdoors and it shows 95 Decrees, the condo is 70 Decrees. Is this normal or is there sth wrong that I should worry about?

usually, in order to change the temperature of air with a heat pump, you want to get a 20-25 degree split in heating mode, and a 15-20 degree split in cooling mode. If it is 70, and you want to make it warmer, the air will blow out at 95-100 degrees. If it is 70 and you want to make it colder, it will blow out at 55-60 degrees.

This "degree split" is called the temperature differential. If you differential is too low, it won't be able to keep up with the heat gain/ loss that naturally occurs in your house when the heat/ ac is off.

So if your system is in heating mode, it seems to be working fine.

Your heat pump temperature controls are all in your thermostat. Most people set the temperature differential at 2 or 3 degrees.

At a 2 degree differential, the heat pump should kick on at 68 degrees and then kick off again when the thermostat senses that the air in the room is 70 degrees.

Your thermostat should do that, not necessarily the heat pump unit itself.
