Do you mean BTEC?
It ranges from being equivalent to something like:
3 GCSEs = First Diploma
1 A-level = Nation Award
2 A-levels = National Certificate
3 A-levels = National Diploma
and a qualification that is higher than A-level but isn't worth a dgree = Higher National Diploma

These are the Vocational equivalent of an academic qualification and will include some academic/theory parts, but will also include some practical work, like welding if you were doing a National Diploma in Engineering

You can get into some universities with BTEC qualifications at the appropriate level, but some unis prefer A-levels. The BTEC would have to be in an appropriate subject too

Or did you mean a B tech as similar to a B eng qualification? because that would be equivalent of a university degree which takes, usually 3 years to get
