Hi. I've had this ipod about 18 months. I think apple sets these things to self-destruct after about this tome to make us buy new ones... but anyway... I've tried to reformat it and my PC and itunes only see 16 gig free(and) used space on the ipod. But its a 60 gig. I've tried to reformat it... Is there a way I need to reformat this to make it back up to 60 gig or its it toast?!! Thanks

ipods can be used as both "backup drives" and as ipods.
You can decide how much to allocate for backups or as a plain drive.
Perhaps the rest of your drive is allocated as a backup drive.
Use only Apple tools to reformat your drive.
If you still have problems, I suggest you call (or e-mail ) apple support for help.

In iTunes, click on your iPod.
Choose, "Restore".
