I was born in the U.S., but my family is from India, what is my nationality?

I think you should be proud and say that you are Indian-American because most of the people decide to be only American and if you speak Indian too that would be a privilege to you(to find work to communicate with Indian) and also India is extremely cool place My best friend is Indian and she proudly says ,"I am Indian-American."

I had a kid in my class in school who was born in canada. He had to decide when he turned 18 Canadian or U.S. citizen.

I'd say American, but if you want to honor your heritage you could say Indian-American.
