It's probably best if you take the jacket back to the store, along with the receipt to prove you didn't steal it, and have them remove it for you. You don't want to damage the jacket in any way by trying to remove it yourself.

You better take it back, WITH your receipt.LOL Or call them before you go, and let them know, so they don't think you swiped it:) Because it WILL ruin your jacket if you mess with it. Sorry for the bad news. They have a special tool like thingy, that kind of prys it off at the stores. I think the magnet thing you are thinking of is for the other security things they put on CD's and electronic devices...it de-activates them.
Good Luck!!

Trust me DO NOT TRY TO TAKE IT OFF!!!! IT will make one heck of a mess!! Bring it back to the store where you purchased it at (or with the reciept for the garment some stores will remove it for you even if you did not purchase it there, make sure that you have the reciept though). Good luck and have a great day!!

Yeah that happened to me once too! You have to take it back to the store, with the receipt and they will take it off for you. REMEMBER the receipt, if you don't bring it, they will charge you with shoplifting!

Yes! you would have to take it back with the receipt and get them to take it off. If they were that easy to get off we'd have alot more shoplifters
