best way to motivate yourself when you are feeling down is to write down everything that is bothering you and all the little tasks that you would/could like to do but can't be bothered doing. See this as a blueprint to a happier life. Once you see them written down then you know that as you go through eliminating them one by one (especially the things that are bothering you) then you are going to feel a whole lot happier, less stressed and hopefully feel more motivated. Once you start there will be no stopping you. Tick off your achievements as you work through them and you will feel better as you work your way through them. Even put in small tasks like cleaning the fish tank out/applying for new job etc. They all count as achievements. Try it and good luck

Firstly think of all the good things you have in your life and think how lucky you are not to be as unfortunate as others.Yes it is hard to bounce back after a run of bad luck but you have to or you are letting life pass you by.Start of by putting on some music and start cleaning your home by the end of the day you feel better about yourself because you have done something that day.Think how lucky you are to have a job and make an effort to do your job without thinking how much it sucks to have to work.Try joining in different activities at school just to break the monotony of it all.Keep this up and find yourself a hobby and maybe enrol in a class or 2 and before long youll wonder how you could have wasted all that time being miserable..Sometimes joining a church group can be the answer too.But dont worry to much or you will end up depressed and this is harder to get over than just being stuck in a rut.Dont be ashamed to see a counsellor .thats their job to make you feel better.

What they say is true...all motivation comes from within. I would suggest that at such times, you revisit what you care most about...
- What is most important to you?
- What do you enjoy doing more than anything, and why?
- If you were given a million dollars, what would you do with it?
- What's fun to you?
- Name 5 things that you need most...
- If you could do anything and get paid for it, what would that be?
- Right now, this instant, what would you rather be doing?
- What are you really good at...knowledge, skills, experience?

Motivation begins in the brain- If you can't get started then start by jotting down all the reasons you should do something and even the reasons you don't want to- Next thing you know your brain will work it all out for you. Feed your spirtual self-you'll be glad you did.

Being happy is the biggest motivation. If you do something while you are happy, then your brain recognises it as a good activity.
Mark out your goals carefully, that makes them easier to visualise.
