Here is the formula for working out ideal milk intake:
5 days-3 months: 150ml/kg of bodyweight/day
3-6 months: 120ml/kg of bodyweight/day
6-12 months: 100ml/kg of bodyweight/day
Crying for more food is likely his way of telling you that he's ready for solids, six months is the recommended time to start.

I was just re-reading your question and some of the answers. I just assumed that you meant formula or expressed milk when you said milk; didn't you?
Definitely no dairy until they're twelve months old.

He may be ready for an infant grain cereal and some pureed veggies in addition to his formula. But he should stay on an infant formula until he's 12mos old. It is not recommended to start cow's milk at all until that age. His rapidly growing brain needs the extra protein and iron compounds found in infant formula or breast milk. Cow's milk will not supply all of his nutritional needs at this time!! Just start one solid at a time, adding a new one every 7-14 days, while you're evaluating for dirrahea/constipation or allergies with the one you just introduced. He'll be fine as long as he's getting proper exercise and nutritious foods. Don't worry about him getting fat. Remember, the fastest organ he is growing right now is his BRAIN! Don't deprive him of brain food due to weight concerns. Your doctor will monitor his growth and weight, and will tell you if there if a problem. Relax, you're doing fine!

I don't know, i only know my measurements in oz and lbs. A 6 month old should be drinking a bottle every 4 hours. That's about an 8oz bottle a feeding, but he'll only eat as much as he's hungry. If he's not satiated by the milk alone then it's time to start introducing solids. Don't worry about your baby being fat. This isn't a glamor contest it's parenting. Talk to your doctor, find out if he's within healthy range and go from there.

don't listen to the 2% or any whole milk answers. your baby should be on formula only right now. you can add cereal and start solids if the milk isn't satisfying him. 4-6 months is the correct age to do this. talk to your child's dr about what the reccomend.

Maybe he needs more milk. Has he started solids yet. Its a sign he is ready to start solids when his milk isn't satisfying him. Don't worry about him getting fat at this stage, he's a baby and needs lots of energy to grow.

He needs to be drinking about 2-2.5 oz per lbs of body weight per day. So 7.4kg is about 16 lbs. So 32oz - 40oz of formula or
940 mL to 1,180 mL per day.

switch to 2% milk and he only needs 16 ounces of milk per day and 6ounces of juices and the rest of the day water. if you feed him healthy food and dont let him eat all day long on junk food he should get fat. if hes hungry give him someapplesauce or something nutritious. he also sounds ready for solids start him on purred foods when hes 9 months old you can try smashed foods and soft solids by 12 months he should be eating good. they will be very messy with their food until they are about 2 and half to three years old. good luck
