i mean when i go to detroit there are fights on the streets and there are racial curse words yelled out all over the place.
When i go to chicago its no racial curse words and few fights and southside is the only part you need to stay away from. Why is this?

Chicago is and always has been a major financial center (for agricultural commodities). Detroit's only industry is the failing auto industry, and the city has been on the downturn since the 1970s when Japanese imports started overtaking US cars.

Check out the documentary "Roger and Me" for a glimpse into the decline of "Motown".

Because historically Detroit is not cultured. There is nothing but the big auto companies, and they are not going to make it. I would not be too surprised if detroit ends up like cincinnati ohio or cleveland. Bland and boring, run down . No offense to any Ohioians. I used to joke that Detroit/Dearborn is the armpit of America, maybe it really is for the reasons you mentioned.
