They don't use piercing guns for your nose only ears, they use a hollowed out needle, this way it takes a chunk of your flesh out, so the piercing can be changed easier!

The real reason is that you cannot properly sanitize a piercing gun. There are too many nooks and cranies, plus I doubt a teenager is going to be too particular to clean it after each piercing when they're working at the mall for minimum wage.

The other major problem is that your nose is made of cartilidge and the shock of a gun can shatter it cause a lot of pain and never healing properly.

The proper way to get pierced is to go to a professional who autoclaves everything and uses hollow needles. This will cut down on infection, keep the pain to a minimum, and lessen your chances of getting an infection or disease (like hepatitis!). You should always spend the extra $20 and go to a professional, because if something goes wrong at the mall piercer, your medical bills will be much more in the long run.

Piercing guns are bulky and only designed to pierce ears. Also to pierce your nose you need to put in the right rings. The rings that go in your nose are backless. A piercing gun would not work for that.
