Can't speak for CA but in VA, MD and PA you are always safe at 74. I set my cruise control for 79 and I've never been pulled over, and I've gone through plenty of speed traps.

45 = slowest 65 = fastest.. no more than 7 mph over if you dont want a ticket. funny wording, i like that question.

People are not understanding your question. If the speed limit is 65 MPH you can be cited at 66MPH, and definitely will at 75MPH ( 10 over is mandatory). Anywhere in between is at the police officers "discretion".

I got a ticket in Van Nuys for going too slow and impeding traffic, was going about 40, back in the day. I was my very first ticket, had just got my license, and was afraid of the traffic. LOL

Try the 110 Fwy (downtown LA) at 8am....I have done <1 mph and have not got a ticket, yet!

In LA you can't help but drive slow because of the terrible traffic.
