Ok well I am 17, I got my period when I was 16. I recieved my period in the summer of June 2006 and it was normal up to August. and then it stopped from September - November. I had then recieved it again in December, I understand that having an irregular period is normal for the first year, but is it normal for this to happen like right when I recieve it , or another words not having it regular for a while??

Thanks..

you are still early to be regular...skipped periods can also be caused by being very athletic...its totally fine.

It may well be normal for a girl who starts having her periods at the normal age which is around 13-14, not that 16 is abnormal, but at the later end of the scale. Because you are now 17, I would recommend, if you haven't already done so, visiting your OBGYN and having a thorough examination. This is particularly important if you are sexually active. Don't shriek! Many of us were at 17!

Well, one question, are you sexually active? If so, then get yourself checked out at a doctor's (or do a pregnancy test). If you are not, then yes, it can happen that periods are not regular for a while, depending on your ovaries kicking into gear etc and stress levels can have an impact also (exams, family problems etc), so just relax for a while and see what happens!
Good luck!

It usually is normal at such an age, but to be on the safe side tell your parent or legal guardian you'd like to talk to your doctor just to be on the safe side. Good Luck

you might want to go to a gynecologist and ask for their advice. i didn't have my period for two months but i thought it was something else. i never got it checked out but i've been pretty regular and fine ever since. your body might simply be getting used to it. but you should ask a doctor.
