I didn't think UK was racist even when all the other participants were being racist to Shilpa. Simply because - It's JUST a tv show. It was obvious that the other participants feel inferior to Shilpa. Shilpa herself did kind of imply she considered herself to be better than them when she said something to the effect that the show might be everything for THEM, but it wasn't for her, she has other things going for her.
Even then, it's just a show, tv shows -especially reality shows don't really show much "reality". They showcase all the ugly facets of society - manipulative people, back stabbing, lying, etc, etc. Racism is one the uglier sides of life. Why shouldn't there be racism on the show?

This is again a common human perception - generalising. All cucumbers are sweet. False. There are some which are bitter. Mangoes are sweet. Some of them are not.
UK has a long history which dates back to 12th century where the Britishers proved to be racists. They invaded countries, captured lands and most of them illtreated locals. This is an image which Britsh developed themselves and created hatred in many minds and hearts. If you look at the history books of many Commonwealth countries, you will see the atrocity of British.
It takes generations to clear that image and in the meantime, be proud that you are different and you are good in your heart and not like one of your ancestors.

It depends why people voted for her. if they voted just to prove they're not racist then I think . . . they are. Being racist means singling a person out and treating them differently because of their race.
