You'd have to take into consideration physical constants, such as speed of light or gravitational constant, before you could jump into the conclusion that "nobody would tell the difference". If you adjusted all the constants and masses, then, yes, nobody could tell the difference. But it's far from obvious on just how to adust all the necessary constants, and there may be more that we don't even know about.
This is not a silly question at all, but a very important one in physics. For this reason, I'm giving this one a star.

Using the speed of light as a measuring instrument perhaps? Or gravitational acceleration as well, which is not a linear relationship between the distances between to bodies of masses, its an inverse square. Basically, if the earth changes in size (mass and volume), gravity doesn't change in a linear manner, so the gravitational acceleration wouldn't be the same for us

Based on Newton's Law that matter is neither created nor destroyed, then everything would have to have greater density. That means that you'd be about twice the weight you are now, I believe. You'd feel a lot heavier, and it'd probably be harder to move around. Everything would be denser/thicker.

unless the shriking included units of measurement, all you'd have to do is measure yourself.
