change the bedding, if you leave it wet, it can get moldy and make him sick. i ran out once, his water bottle broke and soaked his cage around 10:30 pm no stores open and i didnt have enough bedding, i put sheets of newspaper as liner and then shreded some extra paper and put it on top for him to play. he loved it and used until i bought some the next day.

By leaving the wet bedding in their he could get sick. Try to remove as much as the wet bedding as you can. And try to get as much pellets (guinea poo) out as possible and just wait till you can get more bedding. You really only need to change the bedding once every week or so. (especially if its only one guinea pig). It should be fine. Sorry about your surgery.
ps. do not use newspaper or any other paper with ink on it. Guinea pigs love to chew on anything and almost everything the ink can seriously hurt him if swallowed.

It is better for your guinea pig if it has little litter then to leave it wet. As your guinea pig could get sick. Also don't try to use paper of any kind as they contain inks and bleach which is dangerous to Guinea Pigs if they should chew on it. You could have someone put down old towels instead of using the litter. That is safe to use and will keep him busy with something besides his water bottle.
Hope you feel better soon.

You don't want to leave the wet bedding in there, it will start to stink and could even cause your guinea to get sick. If you cannot get new bedding, try using newspapers. Shred them up into long strips and put it in the cage. It will do the job temporarily and will give him some enrichment by giving him something to shred.
Hope you start feeling better and good luck.

You need to take it out, how would you like living in your own fecal matter? When my mom couldn't get bedding (due to my dad working for about three days in a row) she used towels. You'll have to change those once a day though.

have someone remove most of the wet bedding and add some torn up paper until you can get new bedding. perferably not pine or cedar as they release toxins when wet.

if it gets to wet (if it is cold) you should get someone to change it because the piggy could freeze.
