Download shdocvw.dll (right click the text on the left and save to your Desktop).

http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/images/lib/shdocvw.dll

Back up your current copy of shdocvw.dll and copy the new version to the same file location. This file should be located in the windows\system32\ directory.

Using your mouse, click on the "Start" button and then click on "Run".

Type this exactly
regsvr32 \windows\system32\shdocvw.dll

You should see a message saying "DllRegisterServer ... succeeded"

If you are getting an error telling you that the file is missing, then you are not typing the command in correctly.

most lilely there are other files hat are corupted, you can coppy the missing file from another computer and place it inthe directory on your machine (Boot to safemofe, hold down "F8" key then copy the file to the corosponding directory on your machine, C: Windows/system32/....) however this was mostlikely cause by a virus/malware or a program you had installed. It is best to format and rebuild the machine.
