Real simple, concentrate, for every 2girls their are 3 boys suppose there are total of 5 students in student body , then%of males is
3/5*100= 60% (i.e. 3 divided by 5 and then multiplied by 100)
If there are ratios given in a question you can easily calculate the percentage only, but to know the exact number of males or females like in above question you either need to know the total no. of students or either the male or female students count.

Please ignore the answer that tells you to divide 2 by 3. This is how to do it by fractions:
5 parts total: 2 parts girls, 3 parts boys
2 divided by 5 = .4 or 40% girls
3 divided by 5 = .6 or 60% boys
**In order to convert decimals to percentages, you move the decimal two places to the right, as I did above.
