Having lived in Germany and having worked for Siemens for a number of years...let's just say that decent people do heinous things. The Germans are certainly no exception, but they were exceptional at accomplishing the tasks set before them.
Americans are not quite as accustomed to marching in lock step, but we are quickly proving capable of some pretty heinous behaviors.
Good Americans are watching our government do heinous things in the name of security. The German people were told the same things.
Have we forgotten the staged events put on by the Nazis on the Polish-German border to secure popular approval for the invasion of Poland???
I wonder how today's Germans would react if they discovered that their government was running a show like we are at Gitmo....I doubt that today's Germans would stand for it one instant.

They did know all about the policies of the third reich and they all joined him to promote the Holocaust. They wanted homes, clothes, money so the only way that Hitler proposed was to brutalize the Jews and take it from them! Yes they knew all about it they all signed in 1933, and then they lit the ovens. Now there were some that signed and felt pity and tried to help a few survive and did, like Schindler God rest his sole. But out of 6 million how many did he save? Not enough people were like Schindler, the society rotted and corroded to the core over there after WW I, poverty and Ignorance, jealousy and greed, frustrations that got out of control with a fierce maniac to lead them. There are many people in this country that believe that they were right and would like to continue that madness on jews, blacks, mexicans, etc, so be aware bad people don't change they just get worse.

Almost all of the German people knew what was happening in those concentration camps. Those Germans who did protest ended up in the concentration camps also! Seeing what happened to those who did protest, the German people shut up & let it happen. During those days in Germany, it was almost impossible to form a resistance because you could trust no one, not even family. The German people deny because they need to save face. They don't want to be associated with such a horrid history. Most of the people who are alive in Germany today were children while this was happening. What could they have done?

Adolph Hitler did not take control of Germany in a vacuum. He had the full support of the Nazis behind him. Germany was ripe for his takeover. Its people were struggling to stay alive because of the depression brought on by the US boycotting German goods. The Wiemar Republic was run by a tottering old, senile man (Hindenburg) and the government was inept. The German people knew one thing...their lives would be better under Hitler. And, for a while, they were. Unless, you were a Jew, a Gypsy, gay, black or disabled.

Do you really believe that the German people didn't know what was going on? They turned in their neighbors and took their property. There is no way they couldn't smell the concentration camps and they saw the rounding up of Jews and other innocent people. The were active participants in the holocaust.

It was the decent people that stood up in Germany even today many will say that dammed Hitler. HE Lost the war he had everything he needed to secure the riech for a thousands years.

It has a lot of the OoOo conspiracies on there but I don't understand where the Germans fit into it.

What are you talking about?
If it is the holocaust, they knew, they just will not admit it. Many worked right next door to these places. They knew.
Now what are you on about with us. What is going on that seems to be on an equal scale?
You really have to be more clear.

For the sake of all humanity I have to believe that they would have. As far as U.S. Citizens it appears the people are sending a message that George W. Bush doesn't want to listen to.
