Here are my best tricks:
If it is really fresh, put it in cold water, rub, rinse, repeat as needed.
If it is not as fresh, soak in cold water for about 30 minutes, and then rub, rinse, put in cold water, rub, rinse, repeat, as needed.
If the above does not take the stain completely out, then try Ivory Soap (the old fashioned bar kind). Soak in cold water. Rub the bar directly over the stain. Let it set about five minutes. Rub, rinse, repeat as needed.
If that method also fails, try Murphy's Oil Soap.
If your fabric is completely white, a little chlorine bleach may work, but the difficulty with that method is that some dyes cannot withstand it, and the dye itself wil fade, so try on an unseen part of the fabric first. To use chlorine bleach, you will need to do the opposite of the above steps:
(1) Wear gloves
(2) make your water hot. Dip a rag into the hot water, then dip into a very tiny bit of full strength bleach, and then dip on the affected area of the fabric only.
(3) Rub. Keep rubbing for a minute. It it is coming out, great. If it isn't, then let it set about five minutes. Rub again.
(4) Rinse in cold water for about fifteen minutes, to be sure that all the bleach is out, because bleach residue can be irritating to the skin as well- so you do not want to touch it later, if you do not rinse it out completely.
Note: For leather or vinyl clothes, Murphy's Oil Soap will work faster and more effectively than the other methods, sp try it first!
There are other products out there that work, but I have found many of them costlier, and not as easy or effective.

My Aunt helped me with my Daughters pillow case that I could not get the blood out of. I had washed it with everything that people said to try.
She showed me a very good trick. She took a bar of hand soap, and rubbed it with some water, witch made a lather. And rubbed the fabric together, And the stain went away ...If it doesn't rinse and redo...then when ti is gone wash like normal. Stain is gone. I now do this all the time. Enjoy and good luck.

Rinse/soak the spots in COLD water. rinse out well. Then pour hydrogen peroxide on the spots to remove most of the blood. Rinse, then pretreat any remaining spots with laundry detergent, toss in the washer using cold water only, leave the lid open, so that it will wash, then just sit until you close it. Close the lid after about an hour, so it will finish the cycle. Should get most of the blood out, did that 2 nights ago and it worked almost 100%.

Some things that might work:
-hydrogen peroxide if the stain is fairly fresh, but you might want to spot-test the material to make sure the color won't fade
-oxy-clean (like the hydrogen peroxide)
-meat tenderizer can help break down the proteins
-an enzyme cleaner (like nature's miracle which is usually sold for pet messes at pet stores)
-chlorine bleach if it's a white item, especially if the item has already been laundered and the stain is old or set

Cold water, NO warm water and NO detergent. If they are fresh a little rubbing should get it out, if not you should soak.
Warm water will make the blood go into a permanent stain bc the eggwhites in the blood will set.
