It is common! She is cold! That's all. Just hurry when you do these things. Eventually, you won't have to hurry because she will love bath time and won't mind you changing her diaper! Talk to her, sing to her, anything to soothe her. Do you have a musical animal to set next to her when doing these things?

My son had a fit when he was a few weeks old and I would give him a bath. I would run his water to the little dot on the bath sponge to make sure is was not to hot. Well he screamed. I started running his water and testing with my hand so it was warmer and he never cried in the bath again. He was getting cold.
This worked for me. I am sure you are an adult and can judge the water so when I say this it is for the YOUNG moms. NEVER put your baby is water if you are unsure about the temperature.
Good luck

My daughter did that, at about 9 months old, previous to that she had always seemed to like baths and getting washed. It was only a stage, it lasted about a month or so, then she went back to enjoying her baths. I think it's just that babies become aware of an scared of different things at certain times. Try buying her a new bath toy, something bright that makes noise. Good Luck.

Different things will upset them at different ages. Also different things will soothe them. Try out stuff. Sing silly songs, or make up songs. make funny faces. have a few toys that only get used for diaper changes, and some toys for baths. If you have pets get the pets to dance around, chasing toys etc.
Laughter is essential. They learn from us, and we need to show them that life is happy right now. In the midst of baby's screaming, when you're at your wits ends, a hearty laugh will often get their attention in a good way.

my oldest did that, perhaps the temp of the water needs to be changed. perhaps she doesn't like the cold wipies. perhaps switching to soft paper towels that you get wet with warm water. they even sell wipey warmers at baby r us. as for baths she'd get so hysterical from being in her baby bath tub i finally had to bath her in a onesie (a baby outfit that snaps at the crotch) and i just bathed her like that, getting to the skin thru the onesie. she was fine lol she's was a big cry baby as an infant but now she's 9 and the sweetest tempered young lady.good luck and email me if you ever need more info....i'm a proud mother of four!

You need to talk to her alot and stroke her face when you change her, and be quick rather than slow, and when your finished cuddleher up and say good girl and other soothing noises, as well as in the bath. Perhaps try putting hardly no water in, just enough to wash her bits, making sure its only lukewarm, add more and more as time goes on and be quick rather than slow.

Get really close to her and make cooing noises, give her a toy to hold, anything to make her feel more secure. Most babies cry at first when they bath and get changed.

Some babies are really bothered by the fluctuation of air temperature. Try keeping her partly covered while cleaning her up. The wet cloths and cold temp probably bother her.
