It's really hard to say...my first inclination was to say that we'd go back to the Verbal History tradition : telling stories from generation to generation, with very few people who knew how to read or write outside a few in the Catholic church. Also I'd have thought that we'd be TradesPeople, like Smiths, Coopers, Tailors & Carpenters. Now if there had never, ever been school or education, that's a different question. We'd still be in the Dark Ages.

Then the chances are that this country (assuming that no school only applied to this country) would probably value it's education more than we do now. It's weird how people say that would be awesome, but in other countries people are busting their backs to get their kids to school... and the kids really want to go to school. That's the problem with this nation, we've all been pampered our whole lives, and there's a population of people out there who have no gratitude to what they have. How is "no school" awesome?

Then our whole society would fall into choas as people stop asking questions and innovations are never made. Education is the foundation of this world's existance. If school did not exist, our world would still be a bunch of cavemen sitting in a cave smacking each other with mammoth tusks and dinosaur bones.

School is just a societal construct - if the institution as we know it did not exist people would still have the ability to learn and create meaning. We would just find another way to pass along the knowledge that would be necessary in that society.
