Medically, I believe it is 3 months, but it might take a little while for you to be emotionally ready to try again. After the 3 month wait, try when you're ready.

I firstly would like to send my condolences to you and your partner. I sorry to hear about what has happened.
I was told that I should wait 3months after my ectopic pregnancy, although I still have both tubes, I not sure if there is a different amount of time in your situation.
You could fall pregnant within 6 weeks of an ectopic but some studies suggest that the risk of a further ectopic if you become pregnant in the first two cycles. It is especially important to wait before you try again after you have been treated with Methotrexate. And the general advice is you should wait for 2 proper cycles or three months before you attempt to get pregnant again.
It wouldn't do any harm speaking to your doctor about it, as I'm sure you will have 101 questions after this operation and being away from the hospital you may have had time to think of things you want to talk about with them.
They may also give you help with calculating your BBT and ovulation date.
Good luck in the future pregnancies, I sure everything will be fine!x

I am someone who has had five consecutive miscarriages, which I understand is different from an ectopic preg, but the first step will be to have a normal period cycle again. These things cause alot of trauma to our systems and just having a health cycle it the first step before trying to conceive. In my opinion if you cycle is on time and you are ovulating on time then you could start trying again. Oh by the way after my five miscarriages I had a perfect pregnancy in which resulted in a perfectly healthy baby girl whom is five now. The drs. couldn't tell me why I had to lose the first five, or why my daughters pregnancy was perfect. Drs don't always know everything. Trust your instinct and your body...

I suggest that you wait until your have physically and emotionally healed. If your feeling down and depressed maybe some counselling might help you as another pregnancy could bring up memories and anxieties from your previous experience. When you do decide to try again remember to take folic acid from the day you start ttc and do this right up til the 12th wk of pregnancy, good luck

I have heard 3 months but I would make sure with your GP/Doctor. You dont want to put your body through pregnancy to soon and you need to be ready emotional. I have just had a misscarrage and I will be waiting for a long time as Im not sure i would want to go through that again. Im lucky enough to have two lovely boys but i do understand what you going through. Keep your chin up. Good luck
