I'm going to buy a laptop and i found an Acer laptop that fits my spec perfectly. the question is how good is the Acer brand in terms of durability and how long it will last. would you recommend buying one or should i go for a brand like toshiba or dell. keep in mind that i am on a budget of 550 USD maximum. thanks

.... they're only new,.. but some bank's are starting to use them.... Both Toshiba and Acer are amongst the best value computer's you can buy..... MAC,. IBM,. and. SONY make good's one's, but their price's are a bit ridiculous.... One thing you'll find with Acer's and Toshiba's is that they alway's seem to put in bigger processor's, ram's and hard drive's than the other maker's, yet still sell them at the lesser price, so yes,. you definitely get excellent value from both those 2 brand's... Take out the extra 2 yr warranty for $175 ,. and combined with your standard 1yr, will cover you with a full 3 yr's part's and labour... Either way,... they both give good value....

I have an Acer. It's fine. Good price for the features. Acer's do tend to run a little hotter than the other laptop brands. But other than that everything does function correctly.

Sony have tremendous designs and a sturdy construct high quality, so those might want to be those i might want to pass for. Or a Macbook. Acer makes theirs out of damaged Airfix kits if the single i purchased is something to flow by potential of ;-)

If you are working with $550 US only you won't be getting a good computer anyway you have to dish at least $1000 for an okay computer. Trust me I am currently working on an Acer now. It cost me $1000 and it is okay so unless you pony up more cash you will not be getting ANY good computers.

Acer makes good products. If you have found one that you really like then go for it.
