Why is it better to go watch movies at the theatre than renting one and watching it at home ?

because people like the idea of going out and buying popcorn and a drink for 15 bucks and watching the movie on the big screen.

I like watching old films in theatres because it gives you the movie magice feeling, bu the new films I mean come on Die Hard is not the same at home and neither is star wars or lotr. Yuo need that humping sound. I have an audio surrond system but it still isnt the same

Because of the atmosphere of the movie theaters, the size of the screen, getting away from the house, makes it an actual outing for all. Watching at home, you have interruptions, telephone, visitors, children that need something, just not the same.

Well watching it at the movie theatre is really loud and exciting and people are all around you and you can laugh at the same thing and it makes you meet people you've never seen.

Watching it at home is ok too if your the soaltairy type...:p

Its an outing at the movies and often the movie like Nemo is better on screen.At home you get too many interruptions.I enjoy going to the movies with my daughter.

And most of us don't have a huge screen and soundsystem to experience the movie the way it was intended.

I'd say the only reason is the popcorn is better at the theater, but I prefer staying at home!!!

i'd rather watch it at home, cause you can stop and pee if you want, and you don't even have to be dressed. and you don't have to listen to anyone talking .
