The Mavericks. First, they are a deeper team than the Suns. The Mavericks can easily go 10 deep, while the Suns use about 7 guys effectively. The Suns schedule, to date, has also been easier than the Mavericks. The Suns haven't gotten into the meat of their Western Conference schedule yet - by far the better conference. They've mainly been beating up on the Eastern Conference teams. I believe that the Suns record against Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston is 0-5. That's not going to cut it when it comes playoff time. Don't get me wrong, the Suns are a very talented team, especially on offense. But, towards the end of the year, given their lack of depth, some of these guys are going to wear down a bit and they don't have much of a defensive presence. The Mavericks, on the other hand, have guys they can fit it to play multiple styles of ball. They can go big with Dampier, Dirk, Croshere. They can play small and have Dirk at center (no center can guard Dirk). They also have role players like D. George who is a defensive stopper, and Stackhouse coming off the bench to spark the offense. Too much talent and flexibility on the Mavs roster for the Suns to handle come playoff time.

The suns are the better team. The Mavericks can play inconsistantly and when the big three of Dirk, Josh and Terry struggle, the whole team struggles. My reason for the Suns; can't beat a 17 game win streak, baby.

The Mavericks. They have guys that play both ends of the court better than Suns be it starter and and bench.
They are 2-0 vs Phoenix this year.

the suns have a much better team with the playmaker nash passing it to marion, staudimire, diaw and bell. They have a the best well rounded team out there.

well since i am a big time Mavs fan i will say the Mavs even though Suns have good players the Mavs have better skills and Mavs have the best record

definitely the Mavs, because they get Dirk. The suns are good, but i dont think they're as good as the Mavs.
