People ask us really rude questions don't they? It's hilarious to me how these are usually the exact same people who pride themselves on being very open-minded. They aren't if they ask a question like that, of course. It's rare if I'm ever asked a question like that here in CT, as nobody knows where I'm from unless it comes up in conversation. But when someone asks something that stupid, I tell them it's offensive. I do think we need to stand up to these stereotypes more than we do. I also don't need the approval of people whose families have only been here two generations, as are so many of those who ask me such idiotic questions.

Oh, we've worn shoes for thousands of years. They're called dilasulo ;) People forget that some of us have roots in that part of what is now called America that go back over ten thousand years because apparently, we're all stupid and pale.

You know one now, El Chavo ;) I'm from just outside Knoxville originally

I'm from Texas and I know many people think we're "hicks", cowboys, racists, and Republicans and etc. which really sucks because I'm none of those. My friend went to England and people asked him if he rode a horse to school. haha.

I am from Georgia. I've been to several Yankee states and those people are the most arrogant and snotty people I ever met. You can kiss my grits.

I've personally found they're arrogant (especially Texas). I understand being proud of where you're from, but don't bash my state in the process.
