That was a monumental realization for me. I'd always heard that we should forgive. But, I always thought I was doing the person who wronged me the favor.....not myself.

Then I realized just how much negativity that I was freeing myself of. It was truly MYSELF that I was doing the favor. When I started to forgive, it was like a huge weight was being lifted from my shoulders.

I am so happy that I have learned to accept the best parts of relationships and to "let go" the troublesome or hurtful aspects by forgiving. Thus, no more sad, hateful feelings to dwell within me.

Take the best, leave the rest.

Exactly what you said, what was the point of asking it when u got a nice answer your self =/
Ofcourse when you forgive some one truly that is not just saying it but then deep down inside you still hate them or whatever you feel better, because you are not wasting all that time focusing negatively on someone else in your life. Plus why focuse on the bad when there is so much good and even if there isnt that much good in your life, you can think of it as if I forgive them and move on with my life there will be happiness and wellness in my life cause of my OWN PERSONAL health not of someone elses. They could care less if you forgive them or not it is only for you who you should forgive others.

You are doing BOTH of you a favour by forgiving.
You are doing them a favour by releasing their soul from their own mess. They might not understand it or react the way you desire, but THERE WILL COME A DAY that they will be thankful that you forgave them, and it will soothe their conscience that you did what was right no matter how hard it was.
You are doing YOU a favour because your heart will not grow hard cold and numb. I know people that have not forgiven others that have hurt them, and over time, they look very.... OLD, and they begin to have physical problems in their body. Releasing the pain will hurt at the time, but your soul will rejoice that you have finally LET GO of PAIN that is NOT HELPING YOUR SPIRIT.

I agree with you! I wish that you can keep that attitude up your whole life. What we do for another we do in the end only for ourselves.
Hate, anger, sadness blocks our energy system and attracts like minded vibrations and leads to even more hate more anger and more sadness. To forgive still is not so easy for many people. Some people believe that if they forgive they allow another person to do bad again. So it is good to forgive, but I try to be wise as much as I can and think about what I can do that the other person cannot hurt me again in the future. It is also not beneficial if we allow another human being to hurt others again and again.

And that's not even taking into account that failure to forgive also damages your relationship with God; when you obey His command to forgive others as you have been forgiven, that relationship is restored...and there is no feeling greater than knowing that you and God are okay with each other!

Yep. Keeping that grudge can make you physically ill. It's better to forgive and just relieve yourself from negativity.
