It makes America look pretty stupid fighting in somebody else's civil war. Losing $2,000,000,000 and 14 troop lives per week to take sides in somebody else's civil war, that makes us look pretty weak upstairs..

In our world there are 9 billion people who follow Islam. Most Arabs see Iraq as exactly what it is. A civil war over oil. They also see Iraq as a small country that has been invaded by Americans with 1000 times more in Military spending. At least that's what the ones I have talked with say. They don't much like bullies.

i think the war in iraq makes america look paranoid and foolish as if to say that we would jump at any speculation of trouble which is bad because that's exactly what bush did with the war in iraq as there still is no proof of any weapons of mass destruction nor of saddam hussein being linked to al qaeda

I have no idea how it looks to the world. Much of that depends on their media and how the war is being portrayed.
Just like here.
And no, we are NOT fighting in someone else's civil war. The fall of Saddam brought about the civil war, and we were already there. We will look terrible to the world if we walk away while Iraq is in chaos.

When 20,000+ troops were sent to Iraq, and the result of the polls were approximately 30% in favour of Bush's support... I think the whole world knew United states was inferior at this point.

Take the politians off the airways and the U.S. would be fine. Most countries do not understand the political posturing so they interpret the game playing of our politians as weakness.

The division at home and the ensuing political posturing is what has made us appear weak and I am beginning to think that we really are.
If I think this what must our enemies think? If they believe we are weak do you think they will leave us alone?
