Hamilton was interested in what would make him and his friends rich - he had very few friends. He was insulting and thought he could get away with it until Aaron Burr killed him in a duel fought because Hamilton would not retract an insult.

I would say that France would have been his ally even though while he was in France, no treaties with france were created. He liked the concept of the French Revolution, which was after the American Revolution.

His political allies in the US would have been Madison and Monroe. However he maintained a long communication in letters with John Adams. Those communications stopped for a period because of something Adams did, but resumed after a while. Jefferson and Adams both died on July 4, 1824 (I think) and Adams' last words were "at least Jefferson is still alive." Jefferson had died prior to Adams on that day.

Nonetheless, during the 1798-99 undeclared war with France Jefferson was Vice President. This was, of course, before the XIIth Amendment assured that President and Vice President would be of the same party.
