it all depends on what you like best. cats are less active than dogs and don't need to be taken care of as much if their going to live outside. if you want an active animal than needs a walk and bath get a dog. a dogs are generally bigger than cats and take up more room. i personally would get a cat because i'm a cat freak but it's what you like best and have time to deal with
good luck with either... both are a handful at first =)

Personally I would get a dog. Alot of it depends on your needs and what you have to offer back. If you want someone to follow you around all the time, from room to room and whine and cry when you are gone and didn't take them with you - then get a dog. If you don't need that type of interaction and are willing to leave a message until someone gets back to you - then get a cat

Cat! But don't just get onw get two..they are os much fun to have around. Cats are easier to house train then dogs and you don't have to goi out in the cold when they gotta go!! Cats are loving nad independent. No matter what you decide...adopt from your local animal shelter, there's no reason a homeless animal should die! Plus most shelters now are requiring spay and neuter before they leave the shelter shots too! and it's included in the adoption fee

Cats are easier, but dogs are more loving. It depends on the amount of time you want to commit to taking care of a pet.

I suggest a dog. They are loving and they make you feel special. But cats are so much easier, but not as loving. Get a dog, its worth it.

dog...i have both and the dog is loving and affectionate..especially when i 1st get home from work...my cat is alright, but she only gives affection when i'm dipping her food..i recommend a small breed like a boston terrier, even my nieces and nephews that are afraid of most dogs like the little guys.
