I was walking with my friend beside the street, in this very cold night at 10 o'clock, in this moment I saw a gray-colored bird flying in the sky, it was like a dove but a little bigger, but right at the moment I found it's flight exotic in this very cold weather, it went away and vanished ! I told my friend but she didn't believe me and called me paranoid, because no bird can fly in this cold night at 10 o'clock, but I'm really sure that I saw a bird beating its wings and flying with my own eyes but is faded slowly and vanished ! what was that? can a bird fly in a cold night at 10 o'clock?!!

It was probably an owl. They only fly at night, and you can't hear their wings flapping.

When we lived in Georgia, there was a strange kind of bird living in the tree outside my bedroom window, that not only flew at night, but was actually a royal pain. It did all the normal bird stuff all summer and all winter as well, only it did them all at night. I saw the bird during the day, but it was not near as active. Now I do not know what kid of bird it was, but I also know that there are quite a few different kinds of birds active at night. Whippoorwill are a very active night birds. I do not think you saw a Whippoorwill, but it does go to show that it could be one of any number of birds depending on your location. You did not say where your location is, which is important because some birds do not leave specific regions.

I don't know where you live, but it could have been an owl or a bat. Regular birds tend to sleep at night, and if it's really cold, they've all probably flown south. I would bet on owl.

I have seen some birds fly that late. You may have seen it as a grey bird, but it could also have been a bat or an owl.

YES: It can but it chooses not to unless it was too scared to not take to flight.
