What is a belief that you accepted at one time but then?

I once really believed that other people must have similar values than me. Until I realized that this was a wrong believe and that every person has a different map of the world and what I find as good and right another person might totally reject. I then had the believe this was something bad until I realised that we are all individuums and that I was wrong to believe that. Now I try to put myself into the other persons shoes and try to understand the other persons values and beliefs, before doing business with them or before planning things, as if I believe that something might be right, the other person might believe the opposite and I need to find out before. Variety is a beauftiful aspect of life and I treasure it now. So I try to understand the other persons position first and then only talk to the other person in his language about my idea and see if the other person wants to be part of it.

The belief in Evolution. They try to drill this stuff in our heads from pre-school on and tell you that it is fact when it is nothing but speculation, based on circular reasoning. "This fossil is so old because it is found in the layer of rock, This rock is so old because it has these fossil in it ." Thats stupid! When will people open their eyes and see Gods finger prints are on everything that you can see and all the things that you can't see. And to wooly worm Don't be discourage because of what some young couple said or didn't say to you because the fact is they are YOUNG there fore they do not know everything. Jesus is coming again and sooner than you may think. Any way the scientist and professor that teach this stuff think that they are so wise when actually they are so foolish for teaching lies that can confuse young minds and lead them to believe that they are dump for believing in a creator. Hope this helps. Remember you believe with your heart and mind.Don't just rely on your mind because there is a way that seems right to man but leads to destruction.

I used to be avidly against capital punishment. After having children of my own, I watched the movie "Eye for an Eye", and realized that if someone did something like that to one of my children I would want them dead as well. That in combination with our county's high rate of recidivism had changed my mind dramatically. If there is conclusive evidence, ie. DNA the punishment should be harsh. I am not talking about self defense type of things, but criminals who repeatedly murder, rape, etc.

I once used to believe that everyone cared about their future and the people around them. Now that I'm in high school I realize that people are selfish, cruel and would gladly make someone feel horrible if the joke seemed funny enough.
Just be happy if you know one kind-hearted person, they're very rare.

i use to believe that people were kind hearted, and if they acted in hurtful ways they didnt realize it,,,,, till, threw experience,,, i learned that some people purposely do things to hurt others, and enjoy doing it

I ACCEPTED CHRIST AS MY SAVIOUR BEFORE THE FIGHTING IN VIETNAM. I DONT BELIEVE CHRIST IS COMING BACK ANY MORE THAN I BELIEVE MY MOTHER AND DAD OR GRANDPA ARE GOING TO APPEAR OUT OF THE GRAVE OR THE SKY. I TOOK A BIBLE STUDY COARSE WITH A YOUNG COUPLE AND EVERY QUESTION I ASKED THEY REPLIED " TAKE IT IN FAITH " ! " TAKE IT IN FAITH " !" TAKE IT IN FAITH " ! " TAKE IT IN FAITH " ! ETC. ITS LIKE I HAD A COUPLE OF PARROTS FOR TEACHERS.. ANYWAY, ME,MYSELF,AND I DECIDED TO ALLOW MY MIND TO LEARN SOMTHING MORE CONCRETE AND EXACT-STUDY THAT IS, SCIENCE,TECHNOLOGY, ETC.. FOR EXAMPLE NASA INTERESTS ME MORE NOW THAN ANY OTHER STUDY.OR PROGRAM. ITS EXACT STUFF AND ISNT HUNG-UP WITH ONE DOOMSDAY NEGATIVE BOOK CALLED THE BIBLE. INLCLUDING ALL THE BIBLES AROUND THE WORLD (WHEREVER THEY MIGHT BE) I DIDNT JUMP THROUGH ANY BIBLICAL HOOPS TO GET HERE AND I'M NOT GOING TO JUMP THROUGH ANY BEFORE DEPARTING . AS FOR WHATS AFTER DEATH, LEAVE IT AS A SURPRISE, DEATH AND BIRTH ARE SURPRISES . LEAVE THEM ALONE AND ENJOY THE SURPRISE ! ! ! ! ALL OUR LIVES WE MUST IMPROVE AND LEARN EXACT STUFF. BELIEVE ME.! ! !
