It means how far are you. Like walking to someplace and someone calls you and ask how far along have you gotten. In making something, it could mean how close are you to getting it done. Same as in a quiz. the teacher ask haow far along have you gotten> you ans. I am almost done. So the sentence is How far are you? Or how close are you to the end.

This is not a sentence. This is a question. The question is asking how much have you accomplished. So along in the sentence must mean how much have you gotten done. It is like the distance you have traveled.
