I get my own container and dip as often as I like. There is NO way a huge tortilla chip contains enough dip for the whole thing on one dip.

No way! I will admit to dipping each end of a pretzel rod into dip, but not so far as to put the bitten part in.

If I"m dipping by myself then yes I do, but if not, then I'm polite..and don't do it. It's only civilized.
