do you mean a mixer. a mixer will take all the instrument that are being played and well, mix it together to make it all come together so it wont sound sloppy.

You may be thinking of a mixer, not a blender, if you are using the term with regard to music. The correct name is mixing console, and it is a device that allows for numerous microphones, instruments and other devices to be connected together, allowing the operator of the console to control the volume of each instrument and create a "mix" for the audience to hear, or what is going to be printed to CD. The mixing console is the large table-looking machine which sits in the middle of the floor (in the middle of the audience) at a concert. They can be quite large. Some of the ones I use on a regular basis can be 8 feet long, and have over 15,000 knobs, switches and other parts, all of which are necessary to create the perfect mix. Hope that helps.

Yeah, the smoothies thing, but it's also a device with a meter that in a single motion amplifies one channel and turns down another, so they "blend" into each other, rather than just switch, like it happens on your stereo when you switch from, say, the CD to the radio.
