Yes this is one of my top 10 stories. When I read through Franny I couldn't wait to get on with it then the way Salinger abruptly changed the flow irritated me for a second but soon I got into the flow of the second part and liked that half twice as much. Zooey cracks me up how he talks with his mom and communicates with others. It was masterfully written and the ending got a good smile out of me as well. Makes me want to read this Russian Pilgrim book. I also like Raise High the Roof Beam Carpenters and some of his other stories about this family. The stories are like a puzzle and you piece them altogether to see it in its entirety. Most of the stores are told by Buddy Glass which Salinger refers to as his alter ego. Great question -- I love to discuss books that I have a fondness for like that.

I read this book when I was in High School and loved it. I recently read it again and loved it even more! Salinger was so good at really capturing the adolescent/young adult mind.
