Look out for dishonesty, about anything. If things he is saying just don't add up, you cannot trust him for anything. Does that make him a child molester? Not necessarily, but it shows you cannot trust him and you do not want your child with someone you do not trust.

The profile of a child molester is that is can be anybody. It can be a parent, boyfriend, girlfriend, a relative, neighbor, and even a club leader or clergy of a church. The perpetrator is usually an adult, who uses the victim, to produce pornography, or having to force the child(ren) to perform sexual activity.

Trouble is, you NEVER know. It's more common than anyone thinks for a bloke to latch on to a girl for her kids.
You can't tell a perv just by looking at him. They're too sly and clever for that.
I'm horrified by what happened with a guy I knew from 15 years ago. I thought I knew him well, he was seeing a friend of mine (with a small son)
I got married and lost touch with him, then a month ago, his face was on the front page of our local paper.
He had been raping a girl from the age of 8 for 9 years. He'd hooked up with her mum who had 3 daughters.
I still can't believe it.
So much for 'knowing' someone......

If you are really concerned check the Sex Offender's Registry for that person's name and/or pic. Also I wouldn't introduce my significant other to my kid unless I was pretty sure there was a long future involved, maybe 6 months or more into the relationship. By then, you would definitely know.
