Depends on what mean by regional setting. Europe uses a 50hz power supply and the US uses a 60hz power supply. If you want to use your equipment in Europe you must use a power converter. Regional setting on the hard drive itself stand for time zones which can be changed.

Only DVD s have region settings. Its not HDs. So, the problem is solved. They work ubiquitiously.
