Why do they say that they are out to "Discover God's Plan" and PRAY for his blessings??

As far as I know, no one at NASA has said that. Source?

It is conceivable to me that an individual said those words. In the USA even ideas that are counter to the majorities beliefs are allowed to be expressed. The reason that NASA exists is that many advancements in technology were being classified as military secrets and there needed to be a way to make those parts of the technology that were useful to the general public to be public information. There is no conflict between my scientific endeavors and my personal religious beliefs. I realize that is not true for all individuals. I am sorry this bothers you.

NASA does not say that. They got in BIG trouble when the Apollo 8 astronauts read from the bible on live TV from lunar orbit on Christmas eve, 1968, so they are VERY careful to make no religious statements now.

I'm not sure who "they" would be. If someone at NASA says that then he is obviously a spiritual person. I don't think there's any more simpler answer than that to this question.

There is no way that any official US Government communication has said this. An individual: maybe. But even that would be sketchy,
