You would think that is long enough. Honestly, I wonder if people just don't care or somehow believe this guy.

go to antiwar, com or americanempire project .com and read abit. read a bit of chomsky. his plan has worked fine as evidenced by the results in terms of life loss and everything, you have to let go of some very fundumental assumptions of why troops are there in the first place, its not for democracy or helping anyone or anything like that.

you missed something. President Bush has stated his "new plan". It's to try to make things work in Iraq and he's set a time by which it should work, and if it doesn't work we're out of there. What has not been there for the past 5 years was a plan by the Iraqi government and an exit plan, but they are there now.

World War II lasted seven years, and then there was a well defined enemy that wore uniforms. The current was is much more difficult, though many people think they're much more clever at warfare than the president and the generals. In this war there is no clearly defined enemy, they don't wear uniforms, and they blend with civilians. Perhaps it's not as easy as some would believe.

Um, Bush acknowledged a few weeks back that the strategy we were employing in Baghdad wasn't working, and he proposed a new strategy of "clear and hold" run by General Petraeus, who should be headed there now to implement it.

So, I'm sorry to say, the question might have made sense six weeks or so ago, but it makes no sense today.

maybe he needs to lay off the white powder. sorry, i really shouldn't be saying that about Bush but i find him as a idiot. I don't like him and that's my opinion, and i think how to solve this problem is to have a Better President.

yours is the $64,000.00 question.

the fact remains that bush is approaching the nation and world as if he hadn't already had dozens or more chances in iraq.

bush is approaching us all, as though this was his first attempt to get this right, when in fact, he has NOT MADE A SINGLE CORRECT DECISION OR ASSUMPTION WITH REGARDS TO IRAQ - and that starts with his deeply flawed and possibly treasonous decision to invade that nation in the first place...

Because Bush thinks that we can't think for ourselves and see his lies that are as broad as daylight. I like to refer to this classic Bushism in cases like this:

There's an old saying in Tennessee -- I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee -- that says, fool me once -- shame on -- shame on you. You fool me, you can't get fooled again.
