liberals. big time, and TR was one of the biggest ones. that Era brought regulation to business (like food with our without people ground up in it? Read the Jungle)

Popular election of the Senate... Not that it helped that much.

However, you could argue that many of the reforms were in name only and dint' go nearly far enough to actuall solve things, thus a conservative victory. However, in the long run it paved the way for things like the New deal and social programs, making it a long term defeat.

You mean the liberal movement of 1901-1917? Neither, it's brought us where we are today.
