Margarate Sanger(1883-1966) was a strong advoacator for birth control during a time when women were still struggling for rights and was a social reformer. Florence Nightingale established nursing as a profession, invented the pie chart, and was a mathematician. She accomplished all of those things in a time when women had no rights, typically had little education, and having careers was frowned upon. It used to be believed that women were not intelligent, especially in the fields of math and science. Marie Curie would be another great example. Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and maybe even yourself. If a person has convictions that vary greatly from the norm and stick with those convictions as opposed to going with the flow or following the group they are a nonconformist. I hope this helps a little. Good luck!!!

You could do mick Jagger as a modern non-conformist. He broke all the rules our society values, especially in re paternity. Another non conformist was Frank Sinatra. he died a few years ago.
