Skype is a voice communication software. You download the software and are able to call any outbound phone number within the United States, Canada and Worldwide. The current promotion is $14.95 for a year of unlimited calls to any phone number within the United States and Canada. All other countries in Europe and Asia have diferent rates per minute.

If you want to have people call you, Skype can give you a phone number in any area code so that callers will be able to call you. This Skype in feature cost a additional $12 or 3 months or $40 for a year for your own personal phone number including voicemail features.

With Skype software service, you will need a headset attach to your computer or a USB phone hooked up to your computer. Broadband DSL or Cable internet is recommended.

I have used Skype this past year and the sound quality is extremely good. I haven't had any problems but you will need a headset and microphone during your communication.
