Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of dealing with educational inspectors in the UK.

I teach computers in a college and we are having an inspection this week.

Any ideas what they want to see. Any areas where the tutors can pick up brownie points?

Any advice would be appreciated as it's already nerve-wrecking to think that someone is going to be sitting at the back of the room watching every move you make, whilst jotting down in their note pad.

not as bad as it used to be, now a days they are more interested in the management.
But basically they want to see that you can teach a good or very good lesson with targets and learning objectives, work set should be differentiated according to ability.
they will want to look at any policies or organisation of subjects that you are in charge of and they will be interested in any initiatives you have put into place.
good luck

Relax. Just do your job to the best of your abiliy and it will be fine.

Some good 2-way dialogue with your students is a must.

you need to interact with students and keep checking they understand what you are doing. other than that, just do what you normally do.
