You might try http://www.astrologyss.com/
I have Kepler - it has a lot of features and can do jyotish but its a pain to navigate.
I had Winstar long long ago - it was a great program.
I've heard wonderful things about SolarFire and would love to try it.
I mostly use a program called Astrodeluxe - it's great and I use it the most personally and professionally. http://www.halloran.com/
Alphee is a famous astrologer and develops programs too. I have two of his. They do real unique things but the programs interface isn't real fancy. http://www.alphee.com/
Most programs will come with a demo so you can try it out, and at the least should give you a list of features to makes sure it will do what you want.
Also I know there are a lot of freeware software out there but I've never tried them so can't say. :-) good luck and have fun

You might want to try Kepler. It's been so long since I looked at the various softwares but Kepler sticks out in my memory. I'm sure they've got everything you'd need including:
1) Table of Houses (I use Doris Chase Doane's)
2) Ephemerides (Years 1900 to the present and beyond)- Take care to always notice whether they're given for Midnight or for Noon. You'll have to make adjustments possibly so you don't err on the position of the fast-moving planets and the actual MC and ASC.
3) Blank charts you can print out and pad for yourself.
GOOD LUCK and WELCOME TO THE STAR-GAZERS' FIELD!
