If she had nothing to do with Whitewater, did that make it a circus side show or a witch hunt?

Monica was a building block in showing Clinton's alleged pattern of perjury.

Starting with the Paula Jones case, Jones' attorneys wanted to show that Clinton had a pattern of rewarding attractive women who "serviced" him and punishment to those who did not. For instance, Clinton allegedly hired Gennifer Flowers who could not type instead of a middle-aged black woman with clerical experience who could type 85 wpm. Monica was subpoenaed to help establish this pattern. Clinton perjured himself with regard to Monica and other affairs.

Clinton's perjury in the Jones case was intended to support the allegations of perjury in the Whitewater case.

Clinton wasn't impeached because of sex, he was impeached because of perjury; the sex was just ancillary.

Monica played no part in Whitewater. Whitewater was more of a real estate scandal and Monica gave President Clinton a ******* and then he purportedly lied about it under oath. Therefore, Monica had no part in Whitewater, except that the existence of Whitewater made it look like Clinton was always lieing.
