This depends a lot on what you are currently feeding your baby. Breast or ABM/formula? Baby food? Table foods?
If you are exclusively breastfeeding your baby right now, then you have nothing to worry about. Just breastfeed on demand, and your body will produce exactly what your baby needs, when she needs it. My breastfed babies were off the charts (big) while exclusively breastfeeding (during first six months), but came back down when they started table foods. I don't know anything about bottle feeding or solids before 6 months, so I'm sorry I can't help you if that is what you are doing. Good luck!

ok, before everything how tall is she? My daughter is 7 months. She is 21 lbs. and 28 inches. She is interior the ninety fifth percentile. some toddlers are only larger. she would be able to in all probability get taller if she isn't already. Now i'll assert that I do think of that 2 jars of degree 2 toddler nutrition and an 8 oz.. bottle is lots too lots for a 5 month old in one sitting. My 7 month old takes cereal for breakfast, and one jar at lunch and one at supper. She additionally takes like 3 oz.. each and every time with those nutrition. She additionally has one greater 2 to 3 bottles of 5 or 6 oz.. that's it and he or she sleeps all evening. i won't be able to have self assurance she will carry that lots and not get unwell. have you ever informed your physician how lots she needs at evening and how she cries for greater? that could desire to wish looked into. solid success and need you get it labored out.

I think you are probably best just letting her eat what she can really,She will let you know if she as had enough or if she wants more. Its the best way to play it at this stage. My boy was very fussy with milk but as soon as he went on solids he would eat really well.I used to worry he was not getting enough milk so instead once he started on solids i started adding dairy products bit by bit into his food like cheesy mash etc and it was a good way for me making sure he was getting his calcium and other nutrients.Every baby is different though, some babies will eat and eat, others fussy. If you are worried about weight get her weighed more like every fortnight or speak with your health visitor who should know.Sorry i am not much help on this.

just feed her when she wants her bottle or food. my daughter is 5 month old too and weighs 17lbs. she can't be much over the average. wouldn't really worry about it. babies aren't supposed to be skinny.mine already wears nappies size 4 because of her chubby little legs :o)
charlotte had bottles from day one

OK, my daughter was around that weight when she was that age, she is now 10 1/2 months and weights about 23lbs. As long as your doc says she's still on the chart with her sizes (height/weight), then she's fine. Babies that age should have around no more than 32oz of formula a day and 1 jar of stage one.

I have always been told that you can not over feed a tiny baby as they will puke back what they dont need and in the case of my little one this is true.
Buy Annabel Karmel's New Complete Baby and Toddler Meal Planner (Hardcover) This book is a god send and helped me immensley with feeding my little one. It tells you how to structure feeds and when and what to give them.
Hope this helps

it depends how much food she can eat and how hungry your baby is. my baby start to eat at 4 months old and he likes his food, when he's 5 months old he can eat most of his full small baby bowl, while still on his formula milk as a sort of snack. now he's 7 months old, he didn't gain lots of fat as i give him vegetables all the time, no junk foods. i give him milk early morning, baby cereal for breakfast around 8 or 9, then milk around 10 or 11 when he go back to sleep, for lunch i'l just give him blended fruits or yogurts, then another milk around 3pm, then blended veg. for tea around 5:30, milk before bed around 7, and another milk during midnight. try to give her different sort of food so that she will likes her food as well. don't depend too much on ready to eat on the jar still it''s not good for them, it's better to make your own from fresh veg and fruits. i bought a baby recipe book and i make a weekly menu for him. you can cook them as many as you want and freeze them if you don't want to cook everyday.

when my girl was 5months, i gave her weetabix with her fumular milk, warm. she had only one.
for lunch she had a baby jar, prob something with veg, potatoes, chicken. anything that is a dinner that comes in a jar.
then for tea i made her cheesey mash. you can give your child anything that you have made but put it into a blender first to make it into puree, but leave small lumps in it sor your child to get used to eating lumpy foods as they will have to get used to it after 6+.
when feeding your child, give them something to hold themselves to bit on aswel such as sliced carrot or cucumber etc.
people say dont give your child too much food as he/she has milk to fall back on too. rubbish give your child as much food as they like and 5-6oz of milk every 6hrs is perfectly fine.
remember at this age they can drink juice with meals, get your child used to drinking out of a beaker. you can buy ones for 4+.
if you shop at asda they have been doing an offer on baby jars, 8 for £3.50.
dont worry if your child dont drink as much milk as they did when taking in this much food, they will be fine and will cry when they want the milk.
also try using fresh fruit and veg when making your child meals and dont be scared of putting in meat or anything, everythings really safe for your child to eat
