It's pretty easy......... if a brain dead idiot like a spammer can cobble one together, anybody can.

For hosting your first site, try either:
http://www.geocities.com (part of Yahoo)
http://www.angelfire.com (part of Lycos)

To learn how to cobble it together, first go to http://www.htmlgoodies.com to learn how to do HTML

Then learn how to spice up the pages at these sites:
http://www.freewarejava.com
http://www.javascriptkit.com
http://www.dynamicdrive.com
http://www.brainjar.com

For a bit of extra info, try
http://www.bignosebird.com
http://www.html-color-codes.com

You don't necessarily need fancy web authoring tools to knock together a half decent site............ "MS Notepad" or "Netscape Composer" will do almost as well as something like "Netobjects Fusion" or "HoTMetal Pro".

It's not so hard. And it really depends on what the topic is. First, if you don't want to pay $$ for a .com domain, you can get a frewebs, a .co.nr domain, there are plenty. Then you have to get something to host your webpages. You have to know HTML but CSS isn't completely necessary. Then, if you want to get a chat box a good place is cbox.ws. Well all in all, I would say that it is on a level of 1-10 (10 hardest) I would say it's a 7. I created a neopet related website on Jan 3rd and I just fixed the counter for the site. Good luck if you decide you're going to make a site!

It can be as easy or as hard as you want it to be! The easy way is to use some of the free services like Geocities or Tripod.com that allow you to use a site builder.
I found that after using Sierra web studio (now obsolete) way back in 2000, I wanted more flexibility and started using HTML, and now I 'm learning php for the backend which is more fun!
First off, decide what you want to make a site about (my first one was all sorts of stuff thrown together.. it was awful, but so much fun to do!), then have a go with geocities or whatever just to get a feel of things. You may decide you want to go further and purchace a domain and webspace!
I have put together a few simple HTML tutorials on my site if you are interested, starting at:
http://blackcoffee.org.uk/html_lesson1.shtml

Good luck with your site and dont feel too bad if your fisrt site looks bad, everyone has to start somewhere!

Not hard, jump over to yahoo geocities or small business to get started. You can pick out a package, then download Yahoo! Sitebuilder, very simple tool to use, drag and drop website design. It will let you publish your site to your domain, ready for viewing! Hope that helps!

Building a web site is easy. Building a GOOD web site is very difficult. Many things need to be taken into consideration. Color usage, usability, ease of navigation, page flow, etc.

If you want a good web site, hire a pro.

Yahoo! offers free Geocities hosting for personal websites with options to upgrade to better packages.

It isn't very hard at all!

HTML is very basic and simple to use! I am going to attach a list of resources you can use to get started.

The key is to not get flustered. It can seem confusing and complicated at first, just keep working. You will pick it up soon! Good luck.

It's easy once you learn to type HTML properly. Lots of tutorials out there, and lots of people will tell you to use one of the many programs available; learn to type it out first.

http://www.w3schools.com/ learn html, it's not really that hard
http://www.chami.com/html-kit/download/ get the 292 build (the free one) and it will check your tags.
also make sure to get your html validated by the w3c: http://validator.w3.org/

Otherwise (if you have money or low sense of morality) you can get Microsoft Frontpage or Macromedia (Adobe) Dreamweaver and that will do it WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get)
anyways, good luck and happy scripting
