CLOTHES: Right now, the "boho-chic" look is very in. A longer, looser shirt, belted at the waist, w/ a pair of skinny jeans in a darker wash. Note: If you have a pear-shaped figure, skinny jeans are usually not the most flattering, so try a straight leg or a boot-cut. Steer clear from large flared legs, as they are outdated. (The big shoes right now are pumps or ballter flats for more casual situations, but just about anything is acceptable these days, but be careful of chunky, square-toed shoes.)

HAIR: The layed look with wispy bangs (parted to the side) is very in right now. Usually, an easy way to look fresh, but have to get roots down less often is just some highlights and lowlights 2-3 shades darker than you natural color. If you're daring, many celebrities are going very dark with their hair.

FACE/MAKE-UP: A fool-proof way to do make-up is a light powder over the face to even out skin-tone, then a light blush or bronzer on the cheeks. Put on black eye-liner, then put the lightest eye-shadow right below the eyebrow, the medium all over the lid, then the darkest in the crease. Finish with black mascera.

The best way to appear more stylish is to know which looks and colors are most flattering to YOU. Be confident, & you will look fabulous.

I hope this helps!

Ok, so I am a NY fashion designer and I can tell you what can make you look stylish.

Rule #1: Don't try too hard because ppl will notice that you are trying to look cool instead of being cool.

Rule #2: Trends aren't for everyone! If you don't feel comfortable wearing something or have a hunch that something is "off" somewhere, then you are probably right. Ever hear "what were they thinking?"

Rule #3: Stick to colors and styles that flatter you. If you look good in red but all the magazines tell you the it color is yellow, stick with red, at least you know you won't look ridiculous.

Rule #4: Don't become a label whore...again it looks like you're trying too hard.

People have told me that I have a cool and very stylish look. I follow all the the rules above but overall have fun with it. Oh and you don't have to be rich to look cool. I mix and match expensive clothes with ones that I find at discount chains or thrift stores....overall I create a stylish look that is all my own and is not totally dictated by what I read in the mags.

Hope that helped :)

clothes- by designer stuff like 7 for mandkind jeans and hudson jeans. Wear skinny jeans with a sweater shirt and high heals. Or wear a tunic style shirt with leggings that is very in. Also look at celebrity magazines and wear what they are wearing. You can buy most of their clothes at vintage style stores or online for less.
hair- Depends what you look like. A lot of people are going for the longer layered look with bangs or the short bob.
Make-up-natural colors are always good. Pinks and light browns fit almost everyone.

read fashion magazines. don't expect to be as stylish as the top models and celebs, but the magazines know what make up and what clothes are fashionable. also, most have sections for all body shapes and sizes, so you'll know what will suit.

go to a good hair dressers and ask around a few before you make an appointment. they'll know whats best.
