Should you have the guest bed made up with clean linens or should you put fresh sheets on just before their arrival?

I usually make the bed just before they arrive. That way I have more sheets available for the beds that are normally in use. But I don't really see any reason not to have clean sheets on the bed all the time. They're protected from dust -- they might lose their just-washed detergent smell, but maybe not even that.

One good reason to make up the bed ahead of time: having guests involves some preparation, and it would be nice not to have to make up the bed at the last minute.

What difference would it make, if you just take sheets from the closet and put them on the bed, versus leaving on the bed undisturbed. Either would work. If you want a "fresh" smell I guess you could do a quick wash and dry the day your people arrive.

I keep mine made up, just in case of unexpected guests, but I do put clean sheets on for people I know are coming.

If it's been a while since we've had guests in that room, I usually wash and dry them again so they have that fresh feeling and smell.

either way, as long as they are clean. You could also freshen them w/scented linen spray - available at Bath & Bodyworks

Be Blessed!
